cat plays piano with orchestra

cat plays piano with orchestra…?

OK, everybody knows how smart cats are (sometimes) and curious (often), entertaining and MUSICAL? cat plays piano with orchestra proves that cats are even more talented than we already give them credit for. Mindaugas Piecaitis is the composer and director of Catcerto

CATcerto is the a project created by Lithuanian conductor, composer and artist Mindaugas Piecaitis. The world premiere was first performed on 5th June, 2009 by the Klaipeda Chamber Orchestra in Klaipeda’s Concert Hall (Lithuania). It gained recognition in international media: BBC, Lithuanian TV, Baltic TV and the First Baltic Chanel (russian).

Cat and ultralight

Cat and ultralight are never said in the same sentence. But here’s a cool cat. A canopy mounted camera provides a video of a cat and ultralight, at a club in Guyanese, France. When this ultralight was parked, perhaps in the sun, maybe this cat saw a lovely spot to nap: warm, hammock-like spot. Then…
“Hey! Kinda noisy and windy – oh well, nice view.”

Wonder if this guy liked it enough to go for another ride?

Thanks Jenny

wearable cat head

Students of Japan School of Wool Art (nihonyoumoua-togakuen) learning the art of needle felting in Japan have created this wearable cat head that’s so realistic, these photos look like they’ve been Photoshopped. It’s incredibly impressive, but there’s just something about the realism combined with its huge size that makes it undeniably disconcerting.

The cat head was made from sheep’s wool felt by teacher Housetu Sato and his students of the Japan School of Wool Art (nihonyoumoua-togakuen). It’s the only school in the world to offer a special cat-making course where students learn the art of creating  “needle felted cats”.These cat heads are realistic and wearable – meow!

Sato-sensei is an expert in this niche field and has even published a series of books on how to make realistic felt animals. He instructs students from complete beginners to advanced in this unique art.

Sato-sensei’s felting art has already received attention for his reproductions of manga artist Fujio Akatsuka’s characters as cat dolls at the “Akatsuka Fujio Tribute Exhibition” held in Tokyo in November 2014. Now the head will be on display along with students’ other works at the Tokyo Museum of Art’s “Heisenkai Choice Exhibition” from Saturday April 18 where you’ll be able to try it on for yourself!

Helen Keller’s pet cat

Image

Helen Keller’s pet cat was named Mittens. She loved her cat, but Helen Keller’s pet was a dog-cat. Say what? Helen Keller and Mittens had a strong bond which we pet owners know all about. We also know cats are loyal, loving, affectionate, playful, devoted (like dogs) so meow Mittens,  Helen Keller’s pet dog-cat.
